Decorate A Ceiling With Streamers And Paper Lanterns

Set the mood with strings of paper lanterns across the ceiling.

When it comes to ceiling decorations for a party, both streamers and paper lanterns decorations can easily help create the style or theme you are going for. Professional parties often include ceiling decor, which can be hard to duplicate on your own, as ceilings are high up and awkward to work with. However, streamers and lanterns are relatively easy to decorate a ceiling with. Choose how you plan on decorating based on the look and feel you want for your party.

Instructions

1. Drape streamers across the ceiling to opposite corners. Start by taping one or two rows of streamers at one ceiling corner and take them to the opposite corner so that the streamers are diagonal. Tape them so they hang slightly in the middle of the ceiling. Start more streamers from a different corner and take it across to the opposite corner. Tape the streamers to the ceiling where they meet in the middle.

2. Hang paper lanterns from fishing lines. Attach fishing lines to the wall a few inches below the ceiling on opposite sides of the room. Tie the fishing lines to a small hook or nail drilled into the wall. Hang the paper lanterns from the string as close or as far apart as you like. Smaller paper lanterns will sit closer together and can almost completely cover the ceiling, depending on how many fishing lines and lanterns you use.

3. Tape individual strips of streamers to the ceiling using strong tape so that they hang straight down. Determine how long you want the streamers to be and cut them to equal lengths. Space them apart evenly for a more uniform look.

4. Hang paper lanterns from ceiling tiles. Some ceilings are drop ceiling with tiles you can easily lift up. Hang individual paper lanterns from hooks that you can attach to the ceiling tiles.
