Framing a large wall mirror will add a sophisticated touch to your bathroom.
If you're looking for a way to add some personality to your boring bathroom mirror, look no further. Frame that plain mirror with molding from your local hardware or home improvement store. This project doesn't cost a lot of money, can be done in several hours and will transform the look of your bathroom.
Instructions
1. Measure the length and width of the mirror.
2. Buy four lengths of molding -- two for length of the mirror and two for the width. Think about the overall look you're trying to achieve, and choose molding that reflects that look.
3. Miter the ends of the molding so the corners fit together without gaps.
4. Sand the molding lightly and either paint or stain it. Keep it subtle, or be daring with colors and finishes. Allow to dry completely.
5. Glue the four pieces of molding onto the edges of the mirror using carpenter's adhesive, or attach them with hook-and-loop fasteners for a less permanent option.
6. Add personal embellishments, if you like. Scour the craft store for ideas -- silk flowers for a girl's bathroom, wooden baseballs for a boy's bathroom. Affix embellishments to the molding with glue or hook-and-loop fasteners.
