Hang A Ceiling Fan And Light Kit

Hanging a new Ceiling fan and light fixture can be as easy as twisting a wire

Instructions

1. first thing you will need to do is find the fuse box and turn off the electricity that goes to the light your going to replace. Once you have that done you will not have to worry about being knocked to the floor from shock.

2. Next thing you will need to do is remove the old fixture. You will need to check top see if the receptacle box is firmly secured in the ceiling. It should be level and flush with the ceiling and able to with stand the weight of the new fan and light.

If this is not set right you will need to secure it with a bracket set between two joist. In some cases you will need to be able to gain access to the area above where the fixture is being put. In most cases you will be able to slide the bracket through the opening expand it and secure without going in to the area above/

3. Once the fixture is secure pull the wires through(if not already) and separate them. There should be three wires: one white (hot) one black (negative) and one green (ground). You will have to consult the instructions for the wiring connections. Depending weather or not their is a light kit or not the wiring is different. simple match colors of the wires as directed.

4. when you are wiring the unit you should hang the unit from the receptacle by the hook on the unit. If there is an opening that will not be covered by the base of the unit it may be necessary to install a crown ring(two sixes available in most hardware stores). If this is the case it will have to be installed before the wiring is done. It may require that the attaching screws will have to be longer. check for length before wiring.

5. Once the unit has been wired and mounted you can assemble the blades to the mounting hardware and connect the hardware to the unit. Be sure that all blades have the same color facing down. Return to the fuse box and turn the power back on. If you have wired it correctly the light and the fan should now work.
