1. Review the type of absorption material used for the tiles. Material can range from fiberglass and polyester to green or recycled materials. These can include recycled cotton and cellulose fibers.
2. Compare the acoustical performance of the tiles by looking at the NRC rating. The NRC, or Noise Reduction Coefficient, is a number rating from 0 to 1, with 1 being the most absorptive.
