You can find candy molds at craft stores and most department stores if you don't own any; they come shapes including animals, flowers and seashore objects. Ice cube trays are found in every kitchen and they are a good choice for a soap mold. You can use cupcake and muffin trays, which come in a variety of sizes. You can purchase a wood mold for soap making or you can find one around your house. Old wooden cigar boxes, wood wine boxes or even trinket boxes will work. If you are handy with woodworking, make your own box. Make it about 18 inches long, 3 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Line the box with a heavy-duty wax paper before pouring in your soap mixture. When it's ready, just cut it into bars.

Make flat, round soaps with PVC pipe that you can get at any home improvement store or hardware store. Also purchase a test cap to close off one end of the pipe, so you can stand it up to harden. When the soap is ready, place it in the freezer for a hour and then run the tube under hot water--the soap will come right out of the tube.
