Although these types of rooms can make a bold architectural statement, it may seem like a challenge when it comes down to deciding exactly decorate with all of that space. Through balance and utilizing the little details, these rooms can look extra impressive.

1. Install crown molding around the top edges of the walls where the walls meet the ceiling. You can install the crown molding a few feet down from the ceiling to add even more height to the room. Adding crown molding will help incorporate the ceiling into the design of the room and adds detail that brings even more attention to the unique ceiling height or peak.

2. Install a large light fixture such as a chandelier. Lighting in a room with tall ceilings or a peak is very important, and incorporating one large, bold light fixture can really emphasize the space of the room.

3. Add small accessories such as vases, books, candles and small picture frames to tabletops, mantels and bookshelves. These little details will help make the room still seem personable and cozy even though it is spacious.

4. Hang a piece of medium-sized artwork or a large mirror on a wall at eye level. This will help add balance to the room and will draw the eye to the middle of the room, while the ceiling or peak brings the eye upward. Mirrors will also reflect light and add to the depth of the room.

5. Hang tumbling vines down a wall or wall-length fireplace hearth for a unique look that is sure to catch everyone's eye. Tumbling vines will add depth the room and also provide a great piece to help the eye notice each level of the room from top to bottom.
