Jacuzzi tubs have become a popular addition to master bathrooms, even in modest homes, and it is little wonder why. These large tubs allow you to unwind at the end of the day, cloaked in the warm caress of hot water and bubble bath. A Jacuzzi tub lends itself to spa-inspired décor, and this is easy to create in your bathroom.
Instructions
1. Select a color scheme for your bathroom. Spas are usually decorated in a cool palette that consists of soft colors, such as pale blues, sea greens, taupe and white. You can use one or all of these colors in your design, although the more simple the palette, the more soothing the effect.
2. Drape tarps over the floor to protect the floors, countertops and other fixtures. Apply painter's tape around molding and window sills, and paint the walls a soft color that coordinates with your design. Remove the tape and tarps, and allow the walls to dry completely.
3. Replace any metal fixtures in the room with brushed nickel hardware, a staple in spa settings. Change cabinet hardware, faucets, towel holders and even the toilet paper holder over to this sleek, modern look. Instructions should be included with each item, and a novice can easily replace these fixtures. Change light fixtures to coordinate with the new finish in the rest of the room.
4. Add accessories to the room to capture the feeling of a soothing spa retreat. Store cotton balls, cotton swabs and other similar items in clear glass jars lined up on the vanity. Scatter lots of candles throughout the room, and do not forget to add plenty of tea lights to the tub surround so you can enjoy bathing by candlelight. Add bath mats that are either fluffy or made from natural materials, like stone or bamboo.
5. Store plush towels in full view by folding them in half lengthwise, and then rolling them up for display in large wicker baskets. Wash cloths and hand towels can get the same treatment in smaller baskets.
