Decorate Crown Molding Trim

Crown molding is a decorative feature that many people find desirable because it improves the look of a room. Decorating crown molding is as easy to do as painting other decorative touches, and will enhance the look of the room, make the ceilings look higher and showcase painted walls.

Instructions

1. Affix painter's tape alongside the edges of the molding, both on the top and bottom.

2. Paint the molding the same color as the ceiling, adding to the illusion of a higher ceiling, while contrasting the molding with the wall color. If you have a cream-colored ceiling, you may also paint molding white to contrast gently with both the ceiling color and wall color.

3. Paint the molding with a quality polyester brush to increase the amount of color applied to the molding and provide a smoother finish. Use long, smooth brush strokes down the molding to keep paint color uniform.
