Hampton Bay Torchiere Instructions

Hampton Bay Torchiere floor lamps feature a three-way switch so that you can select the right level of lighting for your room. The simplistic design fits with many styles of rooms, and the lamp holder can be fitted with an energy-saving bulb as well. Assembly is simple and requires no special tools.

Instructions

1. Spread all of your lamp parts on a flat surface before you begin to assemble. Inspect each for defects and check for cuts or exposed copper in the wiring. If there is a defect do not continue assembling. You should have four tubes, a small threaded ring, a shade, socket assembly and a base.

2. Separate the four tubes that will make the body of the floor lamp. Each tube will have one end that is threaded on the outside and the opposite end is threaded on the inside. You will install them with the outside thread facing up.

3. Screw the socket assembly, turning clockwise, into the first tube until tight.

4. Pull the cord from the socket assembly through the opposite end of the tube.

5. Attach the three remaining tubes one at a time by screwing each clockwise into the previous. Pull the cord through each tube as you go.

6. Screw assembled tubes into the base until tight. Pull the cord through the bottom of the base.

7. Install the shade into the top of the socket assembly. It will rest centered on top.

8. Slide the ring provided with your lamp onto the top of the socket assembly. Turn the ring clockwise until tight.

9. Install the bulb into the socket assembly. In order for the lamp to work properly you should use a 3-way type A bulb of no more than 150 watts.
