Bathroom Lighting Options For Dual Sinks

Choose a fixture that best matches your decor.

You've finally remodeled your master bath and have decided on the dual sink option. Now you need proper lighting. When deciding on light fixtures, there are several to choose from. Modern lighting polishes off a room to give it a more contemporary feel, however, a more traditional fixture may be a better option to match your d cor. Consider whether you prefer multiple fixtures or just one.

Two Fixture Option

Individual fixtures can either be multiple bulbs joined together to form one fixture or they can be one single light. For smaller fixtures, the light is best utilized by placing the separated fixtures directly over each sink. For larger fixtures, the lighting can be placed slightly off to the side. Modern fixtures add a contemporary sleek look. Old fashioned fixtures work best on traditional bathrooms styles.

Single Lighting Option

The overhanging single light is an option for those big, glorious master baths. To accentuate the modern style of your bathroom, use a chandelier-type overhang. With the proper bulbs, it can sufficiently light up the entire bathroom, including the dual sink area. If your bathroom is not large, but you like the look of the single overhang, go for it. Simply use a smaller, less extravagant lighting fixture that fits to the size of your master bath. Another simple solution to the single light option is to place the fixture evenly between the dual sinks. The fixture does not have to be large if the dual sink area is compact; however, if there is plenty of open space, purchase a good sized lighting fixture. If you have one large mirror for the dual sinks, consider using a single multi-bulb lighting fixture directly above the mirror.

Three Separate Fixtures

This look works well for those dual sink areas that have a double mirror. Simply choose the style and size you deem appropriate for your bathroom. Place one single lighting fixture to the left of the first mirror. Place the second evenly in the center of the two mirrors. The third fixture should be placed to the right of the second mirror. This three separate lighting option can also be used if your dual sink area has one long rectangular shaped mirror. Create this look by evenly spacing the three lighting fixture above the mirror.
