Make Up Tips For Light Brown Skin And Dark Brown Eyes

Makeup can enhance the beauty of your skin and eye colors.

Light brown skin with dark brown eyes is a beautiful combination, and the use of makeup can accent these features. Makeup looks best when it appears natural and it should never be used to mask features such as skin tone and eye color. The correct foundation, powder, blush and eye colors can create a makeup pallet that will highlight the skin and eyes, and enhance the beauty of the face.

Foundation

It is important to choose the correct foundation color for your light brown skin. Choosing a color that is too light or too dark can cause the skin to look placid or muddy. There are many different types of light brown skin because people have different undertones. Some women have pink undertones while others have blue undertones, which is why there are so many foundation shades to choose from. Visit a cosmetic counter where you can get color matched to your skin tone. When wearing the correct foundation, it should appear as though no foundation is on the face. Apply the foundation with a foundation brush or use a "beauty blender," which, according to Beauty Blender, "has been created to leave you with a professional finish and a flawless complexion."

Powder

Choose either a powder to match your foundation or a transparent powder. Before applying, put concealer (a shade lighter than your foundation) under your eyes, around the nostrils, at the corners of the lips, down the center of the nose and a dot on the forehead and chin. This will highlight your features and the powder will keep it in place. If you'd like to highlight your cheekbones, use another powder a shade lighter than your light brown skin and apply it to the cheekbones.

Blush

According to Health Beauty Guide, women with brown skin "should choose colours from coral, rose and deep orange. Avoid browns and peachy shades for blush-on." Apply the blush to the apples of the cheeks, which you can find by smiling. The part of your cheeks that raise when you smile are the "apples." Also apply the blush where the sun would naturally hit your face and blend very well, creating a natural sun-kissed look. A shimmery bronzer in light bronze can also be applied to these areas for a sun-kissed glow. If you would like to contour the face, purchase a powder that is a shade or two darker than your light brown skin and apply it under the cheek bones, under the chin and along the sides of the nose.

Eye Colors

Dark brown eyes stand out when paired with makeup colors such as plums, charcoals and greys, black, dark blues and very dark browns, golds and bronze colors. These colors make the dark brown in the eye "pop." Play with eye shadows and eyeliners in a variety of these colors until you have found a look you enjoy. Always blend the liner and shadows into each other to avoid looking overdone.
