Types Of Ceiling Paneling

Ceilings do not have to be plain, painted or textured drywall. There are varieties of ceiling panels that can bring attention to the ceiling. Different materials and styles can help create a room that is modern, rustic or elegant. There are options of heated panels or those that provide sound barriers. Depending on your needs and your overall style, you can find the perfect fit for any décor.

Accoustical

Acoustical panels offer sound control by absorbing noise. These are often used in a business setting.

Metal

Metal ceiling panels can be made of tin, steel, aluminum or copper. Imitation metal, made of styrene, which can be spray painted copper, silver or brass is another option. These can also be left white.

Wood

Wood paneling provides a natural or rustic look and includes barn board, driftwood or unfinished wood. Faux wood panels are made of polyurethane and require no maintenance.

Tongue and Groove Boards

Tongue and groove boards include beadboard or plank paneling. This is the type paneling used as wainscoting in Colonial-style cabinets and furnishings. Faux wood is also available in the tongue and groove board style.

Radiant Panels

Radiant ceiling panels provide warmth and also save energy because they sustain a comfort level at a lower air temperature.
