looking-to-buy-new-blinds-but-casing-depth-only

looking to buy new blinds, but casing depth only 1-inch

We are looking to buy new blinds for our windows (2 75-Inch wide picture windows along with a few small windows), since we'd like to sell the house soon. We currently have vertical blinds that are in bad shape (and outdated from what I hear). I was looking into 2-Inch faux wood blinds, but unfortunately the casing depth of our windows is only 1-Inch. I would prefer the inside mount if possible. Am I limited to only 1-inch blinds. Any recommendations on what type of blind would be a good idea...and affordable? Thanks! 1 aluminum or wood blinds would be perfect but the 2 blinds can be mounted in the 1 space. If using 2, make sure you get a valance with returns. Thanks for the reply! I went to Home Depot to look, and they showed me that the second screw hole on the 2 blinds was over 1 out, so I couldn't install the blinds with just a 1 casing. Are there other brands that allow for an alternative installation? I was thinking about 1 wood blinds as well, but the prices are quite a bit higher. I don't think they make 1 faux wood blinds, could be wrong though. Thanks again. 1 faux wood blinds are available on line and may also be available at local stores. I you want to use the 2 blinds, you can drill additional holes in the brackets 1/2 from the back. I would just like to point out that when you mount a 2'' blind in such a narrow depth, there will be a significant gap when its closed on each edge. If its going to bother you that someone can see through the sides of your windows, then 2'' are not for you. Personally, I don't like how it looks when it sticks out into the room. If you're going to sell soon, others may not like it either. I'd go with the 1 aluminum, if only for looks. Thanks for the comments. Haven't been able to find 1 faux wood online anywhere though. If I can't find that, I may just go with 1 aluminum or similar. I suspect any composite material cut at 1'' would sag and distort over time. Instead of offering the faux woods at 1'' and receiving complaints 23 months later, it seems everyone is staying away I have great luck with justblinds dot com. They can deliver almost anything you want from blind types (metal or wood, width, etc.), colors, mounting methods and configurations. Good service, support, prices and fast delivery. I have ordered some very unusual arrangement from custom 1 aluminum blinds (split panels) on one track (odd length) with a strange combination of separate cord and and rotator locations. Tey were much cheaper than HD by a mile and the promised delivery was about 10 days earlier, but they arrived a couple of days earlier than promised. Good quality and a personal follow-up call for any problems or questions. I also ordered a ceiling mount vertical fabric blind for interior seasonal use that had every dimension non-standard. It again came early plus they included a couple of extra panels to the special length for use as spares from the inevitable abase for such an application. It is a place worth looking at. Dick
