Remove Stopzilla

Remove STOPzilla

STOPzilla is an antispyware utility that scans the contents of your computer's hard drive and searches for malicious software such as malware or virus programs. Once the programs are found, STOPzilla removes them from your computer so they cannot do any further damage. STOPzilla can be removed in the same manner as any other program on your computer, however, it does occasionally run in the background even when you think it's closed. To prevent any problems with the uninstall process, you will first need to make sure all instances of the program are shut down.

Instructions

1. Check the system tray at the lower left end of your desktop to see if the STOPzilla icon is present. Right click on the icon if it is showing up in the system tray, then choose the Exit option from the menu that will pop up.

2. Hold down the Ctrl, Alt and Delete keys at the same time to bring up the computer's Task Manager menu. Navigate over to the Processes tab and scroll down through the list of files you computer is currently using. Check to see if there are any instances of the Stopzilla.exe file in the list. Click on the STOPzilla entry if there is one and click on the End Process button to shut down the file.

3. Close the Task Manager and return to the desktop. Open the computer's Start menu and click on the Control Panel button. Scroll down to the bottom of the Control Panel window and double click the icon labeled as Programs and Features.

4. Click on the Name button directly underneath the Organize heading to alphabetically arrange the list of all the programs installed on your computer's hard drive. Scroll down through the programs list and find the entry labeled STOPzilla.

5. Click on the entry and then click on the Uninstall button at the top of the Programs and Features window. Click on Continue if your computer's operating system opens a new window requesting your permission to remove the program. Click on Next and then click on Uninstall to completely remove STOPzilla from your computer.

Tips Warnings

Depending on the operating system your computer is running, the Programs and Features button may instead be called Add and Remove Features or something similar.
