Make A Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bouquet

Make a Chocolate Covered Strawberry Bouquet

Beautifully decorated food items have always been a pleasure to behold. A somewhat new trend is edible bouquets. These bouquets usually contain fruit and candy. They are a wonderful gift because they are so unique. You can make your own edible bouquet fairly easy. A chocolate covered strawberry bouquet is one of the simplest edible bouquets you can make.

Instructions

1. Gently wash your strawberries by placing them in a strainer and running cool, fresh water over them.

2. Stick a long skewer into the top of each strawberry. Place the tip of the skewer into the center of the green cap at the top. Press through until the skewer is firmly in place.

3. Melt your chocolate on the stovetop. Use a bar of baking chocolate or chocolate chips for faster melting. Slowly add heat to your chocolate and stir as it melts. If it seems to thick, add a drop or two of vegetable oil.

4. Start dipping your strawberries into the melted chocolate. Swirl the berry and carefully pick it up while spinning the skewer. Stick the end of the skewer into a block of Styrofoam.

5. Continue dipping your strawberries and placing the skewers into the Styrofoam. Place the chocolate-dipped strawberries into the fridge until the chocolate has completely hardened. An hour or two should be long enough.

6. Create fresh-fruit skewers while the chocolate is hardening. Press fresh pieces of fruit onto the ends of different length skewers. They need to be different lengths so you can arrange the bouquet to look more naturally shaped. Longer skewers will be placed in the middle of the block of Styrofoam, and the shorter skewers will be placed around the longer skewers. This creates an oval or round bouquet shape.

7. Remove the chocolate-dipped strawberries from the fridge. Start adding the fresh-fruit skewers to the block of Styrofoam. Arrange the bouquet so there are no spaces in between the fruit and there are no skewers showing anywhere.

8. Place the block of Styrofoam in a decorated pail or basket. Add decorations or a card to your beautiful edible chocolate covered strawberry bouquet.

Tips Warnings

Do not use high heat when melting your chocolate. This will burn your chocolate and give it a burnt, bitter taste.
