Air handler drip pan filled with water

Air Handler drip pan filled with water

My A/C quite working. I found the air handler's drip pan filled to the top with water. It is mounted in the attic. When I removed the water the A/C started working. The A/C is 5 years old. I change the filters regularly. What could the problem. Is this something I could fix. Looks like your primary drain line is clogged. If you have a strong air compressor, you can use it to blow the line open. if not, you need to call a tech to blow it for you. I do not know your drain pan has a drain line or not, if you do, then it is also clogged. The reason your AC stop running is because you have a float switch to cut it off when water was accummulated in the pan. After you fix the drain clean the coil and pan. This should be done once a year!
