Make An Air Compressed Water Balloon Launcher

Combine water and balloons, and let the fun begin.

Tossing water balloons to make someone wet doesn't have to be as simple as just lobbing the balloon by hand. You can make an air-compressed water balloon bazooka launcher that will confound and terrify any foe. You will need some hardware supplies and tools to make your water balloon bazooka, but no electrical or mechanical skills are needed. Adult supervision is a must if the person making the water balloon bazooka is a child.

Instructions

1. Put newspaper on a table. Put the double-corrugated cardboard down on the newspaper.

2. Put the large dinner plate down on the double-corrugated cardboard. Trace a circle around the large dinner plate on the double-corrugated cardboard with the pencil. Cut out the circle on the double-corrugated cardboard with the utility knife. Cut out a square around the circle on the double-corrugated cardboard with the utility knife.

3. Roll the art cardboard into a tube. Tape the outside and inside of the art cardboard along the end with the duct tape so that it stays together as a tube. Stand the tube up.

4. Glue the circle of cardboard that was made from the large dinner plate to the bottom of the tube with bonding glue. Place the telephone books on the top of the tube. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day.

5. Cut the cardboard that has the cutout of the large dinner plate in it into four sections using the utility knife.

6. Put bonding glue against the long end of one of the cutout sections of cardboard. Place the long end of the cutout section of cardboard against the side of the tube about at the middle. Hold the cutout section until the bonding glue takes hold. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day.

7. Stand the tube up with the open end down. Cut a small hole in the center of the cardboard at the top of the tube with the utility knife.

8. Insert the rod end of the tire valve into the hole. Apply bonding glue around the rod to hold it to the cardboard. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day. Put duct tape across the hole on all sides.

9. Insert the 1/4th end of the 1/8th to 1/4th brass connector rod into the other end of the tire valve rod that is attached to the cardboard. Apply bonding glue around the two rods to secure them together. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day.

10. Place the bottom rod of the tire valve into the open end of the empty 2 liter soda bottle. Apply bonding glue around the top of the empty 2 liter soda bottle to secure it to the rod. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day. Wrap duct tape around the open end of the empty 2 liter soda bottle.

11. Hold the skinny end of a balloon against a faucet. Turn on the water. Turn off the water when the balloon is inflated. Tie a knot in the skinny end of the balloon.

12. Take your air-compressed water balloon bazooka outside in your backyard. Screw the end of the bicycle pump onto the nozzle of the tire valve. Pump the bicycle pump 20 times. Unscrew the end of the bicycle pump from the nozzle of the tire valve.

13. Carefully slide the water balloon down the open end and to the back of the water balloon bazooka.

14. Place the water balloon bazooka on your shoulder, with the brace that is attached to the water balloon bazooka lying against your left or right shoulder. Aim at a target that will not be damaged by being hit with a water balloon, for example, a tree or a rock that doesn't have anything or anyone around it.

15. Turn the valve of the tire valve quickly to fire the water balloon out of your water balloon bazooka.

Tips Warnings

Wear protective goggles and a poncho to keep safe and dry when firing off your water balloon bazooka.

Don't shoot your water balloon bazooka at anyone or at any object that could be damaged by being hit with the fast-traveling water balloon.
