Remove The Upper Spray Arm On A Maytag Quiet Plus 2

The Maytag Quiet Plus II dishwasher has a motor that the Maytag website claims has twice the life expectancy of most dishwasher motors. In addition, the dishwasher has a filter and grinding system and variable wash cycles as well as high-pressure spray jets. If the spray jets do not seem to be working, the upper spray arm does not seem to be rotating or there are other problems, removing the upper spray arm might be necessary.

Instructions

1. Disconnect power to the Maytag dishwasher.

2. Grab the middle of the upper spray arm and hold the spray arm firmly.

3. Disconnect the snap from the center of the upper spray arm by pulling straight out on the device -- which looks like a small plastic clip in the middle of the upper spray arm housing -- with a pair of channel lock pliers.

4. Pull down on the spray arm to remove it.

Tips Warnings

Do not attempt to disassemble the dishwasher if you are comfortable with this task, as you may damage or break the upper spray arm or other components. Contact Maytag for assistance instead.
